REDRAIL® Railroad crossings offence monitoring system
General description
- the system is based on recognizing number plates of vehicles and video-detecting the state of the light signal devices
- used for the automatic detection and archivation of traffic offences made on railroad crossings
- other functions can be used thanks to the modularity of AŽD Praha camera systems – searching for stolen vehicles, acquiring statistic information about traffic and much more
- possibility of reconstructing a traffic accident thanks to the video recording

- a technology independent to the railroad devices
Basic technical description
- the system contains 4 CCD cameras and computer for evaluation information in real time
- the system is activated by the lighting up of the red warn light on the crossing signalization device
- the cameras are placed on a separate post so to ensure a sufficient overview of the situation on the crossing
- a part of the system are infrared reflectors used for easier detection during bad weather or at night
- the made picture is saved together with a text information (date, place, time) into the database
- the text information is encoded and sent via GSM technology to a dispatcher work place
- the camera signal is transmitted via metallic or optical cable
