AŽD has signed third contract in Poland

The Polish railway infrastructure administration PKP PLK signed a contract with AŽD for the modernization of signaling and telecommunication equipment on the Wronki - Słonice line. The value of the contract is 255.6 million zł (about 1.5 billion CZK).

For the Czech company AŽD, this is the third major contract with PKP PLK based on a successful tender procedure. The project which is based on the rules of the yellow book FIDIC (Design and Build) should be completed by the end of 2022. In the project, AŽD is the main supplier of modern signaling technologies for six railway stations and for 72 km long track section. Local companies will provide some sub-delivery from the area of telecommunication, construction and energy systems.

„It is already the third section of the Polish track E59 Poznań - Szczecin Dąbie where our company supplies its technology. AŽD, as the main contractor of the project, will ensure the design, production, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the fully electronic station interlocking system ESA 44-PL, including the coordination of all other works and deliveries from local subcontractors” says AŽD General Manager Zdeněk Chrdle.

The project started with the signature of the contract and is co-financed by the EU through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

We are glad that another important project in Poland will be implemented by our company. We are ready to demonstrate the quality of Czech technologies and the high flexibility of our employees also in other projects we are striving for” concludes Zdeněk Chrdle.
