AŽD has successfully completed another contract on Wronki – Słonice line in Poland

AŽD has successfully completed the modernization of the signalling and telecommunication equipment on the railway line LK351 at the Wronki - Słonice section in Poland. The contract worth PLN 267.3 million (approximately CZK 1.55 billion) was formally handed over to the infrastructure manager PKP PLK S.A.

The project, implemented according to the rules of the FIDIC Yellow Book (design & build), was originally scheduled for completion by the end of 2022. However, due to delays in the basic construction works and subsequent changes in the specifications, the technological part itself was postponed until the end of 2024. AŽD acted as the general contractor and supplier of modern signalling technologies for six railway stations on a 76.5 km long section of the line with a designed speed of 160 km/h, while also ensuring their integration into the LCS Poznań Główny and LCS Stargard dispatching control centres. Local companies also participated in the project, including the subsidiary AŽD Polska, which provided supplies in the areas of telecommunications, construction works, energy systems and passenger information technology.

This is the second contract on the LK351 Poznań Główny – Szczecin Dąbie line, where AŽD successfully put the equipment into operation and formally completed the implementation within the scope of the contract with the customer. As the general contractor, it ensured the design, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the fully digital station signalling device StationSWing ESA 44-PL. The project also included the TrafficSWing DOZ-1 centralised traffic control system, TrafficSWing GTN graphical and technological system, the DiagSWing LDS-3 and DiagSWing GDS diagnostic systems, FieldSWing 70-PL signals, PointSWing EP-6xx point machines, PointSWing KPI-41 end position detectors, axle counting system and other elements. AŽD also coordinated all related works and deliveries of local subcontractors.

The project was co-financed by the EU through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

"We are pleased that our company has successfully implemented another significant project in Poland. We continue to strive to demonstrate the quality of Czech technologies and the high flexibility of our employees in other projects that we are currently implementing or pursuing," says Zdeněk Chrdle, CEO of AŽD.
